The invitation suite that started Songbird Paperie!

hello!

I'm Rosie, the lead designer of Songbird Paperie, a design and calligraphy studio based in Seattle, Washington. I have been creating paper-made works of art ever since I could hold a pair of scissors and a pen! It is a long-time passion of mine that has finally developed into a wonderful career after designing and hand-crafting so much of the fun paper elements with my fiance-now-husband for our wedding.

Songbird Paperie was created to design sweet, colorful pieces of handmade stationery and modern calligraphy.

I create wedding invitations, personalized stationery, birthday cards, thank-you cards, hello! cards, party invitations, announcements, typography prints and more, along with an array of calligraphy and hand-lettered paper goods such as envelope calligraphy, place/name/escort cards, gift tags and the like. I also do chalkboards and custom paper signs, as well as branding, business stationery, and more. My designs are full of color and happiness! I very much enjoy custom work and you'll see my custom work pop up on display here on my site and my Instagram feed.

When I'm not designing and playing with paper and ink, I spend time with my wonderful husband (Mr. Architect), our sweet baby boy (Baby E), volunteer at church, and bake/cook/organize up a storm at home! I also study & play the violin (going on 23 years!), pin things on Pinterest, and have a slight obsession with the colors pink & aqua and anything Kate Spade!

about songbird paperie's paper of choice

These days, it's important to know where your stuff comes from -- your coffee, diamonds, clothing, groceries, and everything else! You want to make sure that it is sustainable, responsibly cultivated and made, and friendly to the environment. At Songbird Paperie, where our paper comes from is just as important.

The majority of Songbird Paperie's paper comes from Waste Not Paper, a US-born and bred company based in Chicago. All of the paper is domestically made, coming from paper mills that practice responsible, sustainable, forestry (and are certified by objective third parties). Many of the Waste Not Paper products are created using renewable energy sources, such as hydro power or wind power. The solid stock paper (all colors) is produced without elemental chlorine (PCF, a bleaching element that harms the environment). One of the white papers (I offer many shades of white), Eco-White, is made of 100% recycled content with 30% post-consumer waste). All of the other stock colors are made with 30% post-consumer waste.
