A very songbirdie holiday!

2017_12_holidaytime.jpg

Wow, does anyone else feel like 2017 went by way too fast?!

We're looking forward to the holiday slow down and spending time with family in the coming weeks (before the crazy post-holiday engagement planning rush hits us!).

What we're also excited about is sharing the latest holiday goodies that we've designed!

We'll be participating in the MAKERS Made in the PNW Holiday Market on Thursday, December 14th from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Seattle where we'll have all these and more for sale - including hand lettered Christmas tree ornaments we'll be customizing on-site!

RSVP on their Facebook page for more details:
https://www.facebook.com/themakersspace/

For those of you who can't make it, you can head over to our etsy shop to pick up your favorite items or shoot us an email at hello@songbirdpaperie.com.

Check out a sneak peek of the goodies below and let us know if you have any other holiday requests!

xoxo,
Rosie

Tote Bags!

We're bringing back these favorites - and will be revealing a new design soon! (We'll let the anticipation build...)

Banners!

3 new colorful and sparkly banners to add some festiveness to your home all year long and for any events!

Christmas Cards!

Has the holiday season creeped up on you too?  Need some help designing a Christmas card that isn't cookie cutter (although, we do love cookies!)?  Or don't quite feel like your handwriting is up to snuff?  We're here to help!  In addition to our design services, we offer envelope addressing and create custom stamps (so you don't have to write your return address, over and over and over and over...)

Tree Ornaments!

We're really excited about these ones!  Ornaments are always a go-to gift idea - especially a customized one!  We'll be offering two different styles, below is a preview of the acrylic ones and we'll be posting photos on Instagram of our second style soon!

Graphic Prints!

In addition to our classic prints we have up in our etsy shop, we've designed several new Christmas-themed prints that will look amazing on your mantle!

Gift Tags!

I don't know about you, but I get a lot of joy out of a beautiful wrapped present.  Some fun gift tags can help add a little extra pizzazz!

Wedding Tips | 9 Wedding Favor Ideas

I don't know about you, but when I was planning my wedding I had such a hard time coming up with a wedding favor to give my guests!  What is something cute and fun that people will actually want?

Luckily, we're here to help you out!  We've partnered with many brides and grooms to jazz up their favors and wanted to share with you a few of the best ideas we've come across.

Any other ideas to add to the list?

xoxo,
Rosie

1. Champagne

Hard to go wrong with mini-champagne bottles, especially when they're glitter-tastic! Check out this DIY tutorial from Pottery Barn to get started.  Cheers!

2. Honey

Love IS sweet, isn't it?! Jars of honey are an adorable, classic favor idea.

3. Chocolate

Chocolate is one of the most popular sweet treats, so why not give some to your guests? Especially these amazing ones from local company Fran's Chocolates.

4. Sugarfina Candies

For those that aren't chocolate lovers, Sugarfina Candies are some of my favorite plus they come in these elegant boxes that will look great on your table setting.  Pro Tip: Clean out the box and use it to store knick knacks on your desk!

5. Flowers

Put together small flower arrangements for your guests to take home.  Stop by IKEA and pick up some very affordable bud vases to use, and save money on buying them from your florist.

6. Local Treat

Getting married in Seattle?  Since we're known for coffee, consider packaging up some local beans in a fun, custom box.

7. Soap

Decorate a fragrant bar of soap with a cute tag and your wedding monogram.

8. Cookie Cutter

Who doesn't love cookies?! I'll tell you - no one!

9. Bottle Opener

A brilliant idea for your guests to keep in their purse, and inevitable use at the hotel after-party!

I've been anxiously awaiting photos from this beautiful wedding designed by Bridget Forster at Perfectly Posh Events and am so excited to share them with you! Laurel McConnell Photography did a fabulous job capturing it, don't you think?!

The Pantone Color of the Year for 2017 is Greenery and this wedding serves as the perfect inspiration.

Enjoy viewing all the fun details from their wedding at The Foundry by Herban Feast in Seattle, WA.

xoxo,
Rosie

This soft, romantic wedding invitation suite that we designed for their wedding is now available in our Etsy shop!

Swooning over these gold sparkly hangers for the flower girls' dresses and amazing bouquet by Sublime Stems

The beautiful couple and amazing wedding ceremony backdrop that is perfectly on-point with the Pantone theme!

All I have to say is... O. M. G.

Mirrors are such a fun medium for hand lettering and to use for wedding signage!  These beauties were rented from Vintage Ambiance

Another really fun detail! Escort cards for the champagne flutes! I loved designing these ones.

OBSESSED with these Sugarfina candies that we designed the wedding favor tags for!

SBP Wedding Stationery Timeline

You're Engaged!

Find your stationery designer and calligrapher. Luckily, that's us all in one! Contact erica@songbirdpaperie.com to set up a free wedding stationery & calligraphy consultation!

12-6 Months Before Your Wedding

Order Save the Date announcements and Thank You cards. You should send thank you cards as gifts come in. Trust us. You'll be happy you kept up with it early because the thank you list does start to pile up fast!

6-8 Months Before

Mail Save the Date announcements. If you're having a destination wedding (say, in Jamaica, Paris or in a part of the country where most of the guests will be travelling to by plane), mail them out as soon as you've set a date and venue to maximize the time your guests will have to book accommodations!

4-5 Months Before

Start the design process with your for wedding, rehearsal dinner and day-after brunch invitations. Decide on an envelope color as soon as possible in order to get the envelopes to your calligrapher ASAP. Songbird requires 1 week per 100 envelopes, but during the busy season, our turnaround time may increase!

10-8 Weeks Before

Deliver invitation envelopes to your calligrapher. Double check turnaround time with them to ensure you don't pay a rush fee to get them done in time.

6-8 Weeks Before

Mail all the invitations! Order programs, menu cards, table numbers, place cards, favor cards, signage and other stationery for the big day.

3 Weeks Before

Finalize seating assignments for your calligrapher & escort/place cards. Prepare thank you cards for your vendors! (Order more cards from your stationer if necessary.) Ask your wedding planner, or recruit a bridesmaid, to deliver the thank you cards on the day of your wedding (or when you receive the final products)!

2-3 Weeks Before

Guests should have sent in their RSVP cards by now. If not, now's the time to hunt down the non-responders!

1 Week Before

Pack a complete wedding invitation in your wedding day to-go-bag for your photographer to capture along with the other wedding details!

The BIG DAY

Get married! In the morning, write a note or card to your future spouse. It will become a cherished love letter for generations to come :)

2 Weeks After Your Wedding

Mail "we got married!" announcements, if desired. (You may order these through your stationery designer as well!)

1 Month After

Make sure all off your thank you cards are mailed out and cheers to your first month as a married couple!
