Cafe Flora Styled Shoot
Hi! It's been a while. Like way too long. A whole summer has passed since I last blogged and I miss you guys! I had a great summer 2014 wedding season, though! It was one for the record books. I'm looking forward to the off-season (still getting used to that -- being from sunny California, people get married year round!) where I can photograph all of my 2014 wedding paper and lettering goodies!
Another new thing for me is The Styled Photo Shoot. Ummm how awesome is it to dream up a dreamy wedding and make it come to life without actually getting married [again]?! The answer is SO awesome in case you were wondering. I got to do five styled shoots this year so far and they have all been so awesome!
The shoot I'm going to share with you is one that was dreamed up by the lovely Natalie of Ginger Bee Events and photographed by the awesome Sahara Coleman! It also got picked up by Seattle Bride Magazine (hooray!!) -- check out the link to the feature at the bottom of the post.
This photo shoot was so much fun! Did I mention that already? I felt like got stretched in a good way -- the colors were so dark, earthy, and almost moody, evoking such a dark chocolately rich feeling. I'm more milk chocolate. With sprinkles. And caramel. And edible glitter. With a gold foil wrapper. But after doing this, I'm like wow I can be ANY chocolate I want to be!
I also got to write on unconventional surfaces, which was always a treat. Natalie got these stone coasters for the place cards. Nifty idea, huh? As much as I love paper, a different kind of escort or place card is so creative and can also serve as a favor!
The invitation suite was pretty awesome -- again, dark, earthy, and rich, but we also contrasted that with very geometric details (totally hot next wedding season, FYI.). Octagons and dodecagons (had to look that one up) made the invite stand out, and of course, my favorite, an envelope liner with a mosaic of more polygons!
The table assignments were written on glass tiles -- check out the shadow of the lettering! I used a chalk ink pen for these -- definitely recommend that over a paint pen.
Side note: check out that ring! So gorgeous.
Such a fun styled shoot. :) If you want to check out more photos of this fabulous shoot, check out Ginger Bee Events' website or the feature on Seattle Bride Magazine's website!
And I will see you guys sooner than later! I promise this time. :)
xoxo,
Rosie
